HOME OF THE
HERO MORTGAGE

Our Hero range was specially developed for the ones our nation couldn’t do without - the NHS clinicians, the police and firefighters, teachers and those in the armed forces.

If you're looking to borrow more to buy a home closer to where you work, our Hero mortgage could be for you.

We consider overtime and second job income too

When your mortgage adviser recommends a Kensington Hero mortgage, our underwriters personally review your application so that they can take your individual circumstances into account in a way that fully automated processes can’t. Plus, we have flexible lending criteria which means we can consider overtime and second job income as well as limited credit history and debt management plans.

THE BENEFITS OF A KENSINGTON HERO MORTGAGE

WHO OUR HERO MORTGAGES ARE FOR

If you’re working in one of the professions listed below, our Hero mortgage could be for you. If you’re eligible, and depending on your circumstances, you may be able to borrow up to 5x your income, which could help you buy a home nearer to where you work.

NHS Clinicians

When we're in need of treatment and care, we rely on you. Now we want to help you by making it easier for you to get onto the property ladder, move home, or remortgage.

As we know your work isn't 9-5, we can take into account 100% of your overtime when we assess your affordability.

Teachers

You share your wisdom and knowledge to nurture and shape future generations, so we’d like to help this generation of teachers get the mortgage they need.

Even if you're just starting out in your teaching career, we have no minimum income requirements and always assess your affordability on an individual basis.

Police and Firefighters

You support us when we need it most, so we want to give something back by helping you own your own home.

We offer a range of features including £250 cashback. Plus, we can consider 100% of your second job income where you’ve had both jobs for a minimum of six months.

Armed Forces

You provide us with protection around the clock, which often means being away from loved ones for long periods of time. That’s why we’re proud to help you secure your ideal home.

As a member of the armed forces your mortgage advisor can select our Hero mortgage which enables you to borrow up to 5x your income, or the Forces Help to Buy Mortgage which lets you benefit from the Government Scheme to maximise your deposit.
